20th and 21th

The weather has cooled down and it is my favorite time of year to ride. Problem is that it is also the time of year when the cagers decide they want to cruise the mountain roads. Leaf watchers and fall festival folks are everywhere. I will have to start hitting the backroads ,which are really more fun. Get ready for the on coming pictures of fall. I will be taking plenty of them. Did not ride much this weekend but did manage a nice litle video of me getting fed up with the traffic and going home. I pulled over and waited until I got a nice gap in the traffic. One car did get in front me and I did say damn ,before cranking the bike. The WSB races were great and I am glad that Speed showed both of them.

I had to go up to Copperhill, TN for a work-related function this weekend, but this year I rode. Took the Versys up. My Garmin was set for shortest route, so it took me off Hwy 76 somewhere left of Blue Ridge and then up through several gravel roads that I would have sworn were someone's driveway if they did not end up back on pavement eventually. Yeah, it was a shorter route, but not quicker!

I now have considerably more experience with the Versys off-road. Not exactly where I want to go, but I must admit that the bike never had an issue. Even with lowered suspension, it never bottomed out. Steering was relatively neutral but obviously it was running the wrong tires. No undue rattles, nothing fell off, and I could easily use second and third gear with the taller front sprocket.

Not too bad for a road bike.

It's just a great little bike.
