Wales and Dales

Just a brief note of praise for my Versys. I was in the UK in July to meet up with a couple of UK riding buddies on the 10th anniversary of the event where we met, the 2006 Centopassi.

We took off for four days of riding in the Peak District, then Wales, wrapping up in the Yorkshire Dales. My old blue Versys acquitted itself very nicely, nipping at the heels of my friends' GS Adventures on those gnarly little back roads in Wales. A couple of photos are attached.

I've got over 80K miles combined on my two Versys, and despite having another bigger, faster bike, when the riding gets quick on technical roads, I prefer the relatively light weight, and the very nimble handling of the Versys. Yep, preaching to the choir again.

Nice. Guard rails make me nervous. Great for cars. Hell for motorcycles.

When you look past the guard rails it looks great riding country.

Although I have had Miss Jaffa (Burnt Orange 2007 Versys) for a while, I still have a lot to learn.

Wales is great riding country. Lots of fun roads. It was really nice to have friends to show me around. Dominic is not Welsh, but he spent part of his youth there, so he had lots of insight on where to find the best roads.

I just loved the visual of the guard rail wrapping around the side of the hill.
