Chinese acerbis dual road handguard knockoffs

I bought a set of Chinese acerbis dual road handguard knockoffs from ebay for a little bit over $23 shipped to me on the US east coast. It took just over a week for them to arrive. They seem decently made, come complete with mounting hardware (which I didn't need for the stock versys bars).

I took the versys to work with them on yesterday and they seem to work fine (yes, all the bugs on them are from riding to and from work yesterday - I guess the rain caused a gnat population explosion). My goals are just weather related, keep some of the wind and rain off my hands and have a base for my bar covers (hippo hands). I don't see the need for full on handguards for street use...

The particular ebay vendor I used: http://stores.ebay.com/Top-Speed-USA...p2047675.l2563

The pics:

Hmm they don't look too bad.

Sorry to ask the noob question, but what is on your throttle connecting to your front break lever?

You can never have enough spares, auxiliaries, or redundancy (not to mention supplements). I don't even need all that any more since having carpal tunnel surgery a few years ago but it's nice to have something in reserve.

I use the "Vista Cruise Universal" on my Vs. It's NICE when on a long ride to give my right hand a 'break' by putting "cruise" ON, then removing my hand from the throttle and 'wiggling' my fingers, then hand back, cruise OFF.

Those knock offs look just like the real ones but about $100.00 cheaper. Good find....

Yep, that's about the extent of my use as well. I've had the Vista Cruise and might have gone that route except I got this super cheap at one of the motorcycle shows.

It made me wonder if they got a set and just made molds from them. It wouldn't surprise me. The price is just too much cheaper for me to pass them up. I don't expect them to suffer any abuse so expect they'll last but we'll see.

Here's my cheap cruise control method.... (not my video though)
Interesting, I've done different cheap options but like the adjustability of this thing (also have a similar one from another brand on my cbr).

I paid about $18 for my go cruise but I'm in the 0.1% of folks who have 90% of the money (or something like that).

I saw your post over at ADV...bought a set, shipped today. Thanks for the heads up.

For the cheap cruise control...is that a zip tie?...on a phone, can't tell for sure.

I have seen pics of the 2015 with some huge handguards (these are not huge) so I don't think these will give you any issues. They only connect to the bike at the ends of the handlebars so you don't have to worry about conflicts with controls or any other things you've added to the bars.
