Not pretty....but works....

After trying several windshields and then taking a 3K trip with Mike's GT shield and Madstad brackets.. running interstate speeds 75-85 decided that I needed more protection.. had too much buffeting and helmet noise... after removing the Madstad brackets I modified the OEM bracket so they would tilt and then extended them 3.5 inches and re-installed Mike's GT shield.. purchased a 24x24" .026 gauge steel plate and ended up with this...

I'm pretty sure you just lost at least 5 miles to the gallon, lol. Awesome work though man, way to come up with a solution for the issue. If your running that much time above 65 I could see how it would be a hassle. I know things get pretty rough above 70 mph with the Givi.

Just on the 3rd picture. IF you can flush the mod to original cowling that will really look good. There is a gap that doesn't fit the contour.

Well thought of and a good job mate
