top rack alternatives?

Are there any alternatives to the SW-Motech / Givi top racks?
Thanks in advance for any info.

Kinda sorta.. short on the gear at the moment. Good idea for the longer term, though...

A friend did a DIY like

Used longer bolts on his Hepco and Becker hardbag frame.
As for the type of box you want to put on, all it takes would be the topcase base plate.

Good to know. Payson, BTW, is a neat town; I rode through there many times when I lived in AZ...

Great link; very interesting. If I go with the hard case, it will probably be that route.
Thanks!

Ventura

Just throwing this one out for comparison.

I had one on my Nighthawk several years ago as there was just not much aftermarket for it.

I have a Ventura rack on my V. I bought it used from someone here a 1-1/2 to 2 years ago. The only downside is that it won't work with any commercially available panniers.

To use with my Ventura rack (what they call the L brackets) I have the Pack-Rack, the Sport-Rack, and the Grab-Handle, but I only use the Pack-Rack. I also have a Ventura made pack that fits nicely over the Pack-Rack. It's no longer made, but it's similar to Ventura's Aero-Spada VII.
