DIY windshield bracket mod

I sliced about 3/8" inch out of the windshield bracket's overall height, and also cut in a V as to give about 6 deg slant back. Using hts-2000 aluminum brazing rod, I put it back together with an 1/8" backing plate on the outside for added strength. The brazing rod was noticeable harder to file than the stock casting. If you make the cuts low on the bracket, the bodywork hides your work.
I'd say give it a shot. No TIG torch needed. Sorry, no pics.

I cut my windscreen brackets in two also, and ground the halves down on an angle to tuck down and lean my Mike's Shields 16.5" windscreen back as much as it could without touching my handguards at full steering lock. I just bolted the halves together with some flat steel bar. It completely cured the buffeting and vacuum pocket problem, and it looks better too.
