rear rack options

A guy on this forum makes one of the best - many guys on this forum have it on their bikes including me.
http://www.adv-gear.com
And it comes in aluminum as an option.

Yeah, the rear rack is a tough one to figure out. I got the SW aluminum rack for a 2012, since the extra's weight starts adding up. Whatever most of the members here get is often a good bet: as long as it's AL, ha ha.

They go quick on For Sale section here, but 2009 would be maybe one of the most posted parts and there may be one somewhere on there now. First Gen's post part's often, so you should get the best deal of any model and the best used part's availability. Take advantage of it!

I went with SW Motech, but confess it is not bolted on yet.. I already have their pannier-mounting system w/quick release, and their crash bars, as did my KLR.

Other than their instructions SUCK, I typically go to Motech first. I can make out "Actung, Achtung" and then I am in the dark.

That being said, the ones suggested above are a smart looking product as well, and I normally prefer to spend money that goes to the smaller operator, but I got a bunch of Motech stuff all at one time, and knew it would all work together for my application.

Understood. I suppose it's the season.

Watch for a PM from me, I might have another source to at least call/try.
