2010 done right

I got so irritated by the new Versys 2010 look, that I decided to set it right myself. This is how they should have done it (and how I'm going to do it):

TODO:
1) Buy used '08 or 09' Versys (one with black rims)
2) Powder coat the swingarm and footrest plates (black)
3) Paint fairings yellow!
4) Order 2010 Versys tail pieces (hope they fit, anybody know?)
5) Put it all together
6) Own the coolest Versys on the planet

What do you think?

I think it looks good, the black swingarm is great. but why stop there you could do the handlebar and riser black to, and mabey even paint the shield black, or go with one that is tinted.

Is that amount of de assembling-painting-asembeling worth the visual gratification? If so, rock on. I'm sure it's going to be stunning.
It will take time and money, that could both be spent riding and enjoying.

I love the look but yellow is my favorite color, along with black. Sooo it gets 5 *'s from me! Now do they make a black exhaust can or is there any type of paint that can be used on it to make it black?

Some of the after market exhaust can be had in carbonfiber, with two brothers you can even order it custom. I made this on there website then took a pic of my moniter I don't own it.

I hate to point out the obvious, but that's a 2009 model, not a 2010, that's why it looks so good...

BTW, all yellow looks better to me.

And it does look very close to the yellow/orange from 2009 European versions, except for the black swing arm. I wish I could have gotten my hands on one of those.

P.S. I bought my Versys to support my photography hobby.

Another work of art, and not nearly as obnoxiously loud...

Yes, I know. My point was that I think they should have done it like my picture, not like they really did with the new aggressive fairings.

Yup, this model was the basis of my composite. I changed the color to yellow, took the swingarm and other black pieces from the all black 2009 model and finally attached the 2010 tail.

The riding season won't really start here in Finland until May, so I have about a month to work on the bike and not lose much on riding. I like modifying things to suit my specific tastes so I'm actually looking forward to all the de-assembling/assembling. The only part that does worry me is the financial side. I would not like to spend a fortune on the project.

Thanks! I actually like that some specific parts of the bike are metallic. Maybe aluminum rims would be even better... If I forget about black rims, I could buy a 2007 Versys and save some money to be used on the modifications.

Here is a version with aluminum rims:

Yup, Yoshimura. $415 shipped from IndySuperBikes. Not only does she fit like a glove, she finally gave the V the sound I was looking for. Darn near as nice as the SIL Moto's sounded on my Duc.
