Canadian fairings on a U.S. 2009 Versys?

Hello,

I did a search on the forums but couldn't find the info. I was looking for. If there is an existing thread, please forgive me.

I recently purchased a Green Versys and I'm starting the customization. I'll be painting the lowers black and adding sliders in the future. What I would like to do right now is give my bike a distinctive color scheme. I absolutely love this Candy Lime Green but I also like the 2007's Candy Burnt Orange for Canada.

I was thinking of buying the left and right fairings in orange and putting them on my bike for a Green/Orange scheme. The question I have is: will the Canadian fairings for the 2007 fit a 2009 U.S. bike w/o mods? Thanks!

This is just a guess because I haven't done it, but I see absolutely no reason why that particular swap wouldn't work perfectly.

I don't see why not, it's the same bike from the same factory, and the fairing were not changed as far as I know. I just don't think that the burnt orange would look too good with the green. Some other combos maybe. But who knows I haven't seen them side by side.

Moon Dust Gray Versys, with lots of farkles.

Vlast

P.S. I bought my Versys to support my photography hobby.

Cool, thanks for the replies. I'm gonna go ahead and order them.

And yeah, the color scheme is a little out there but err... let's just say that I have weird tastes. Hey, I ride a Versys!

Here's a little photoshop mock-up I did. I think it looks interesting

Horribly Awesome!!!!!

Japanese scientists have created a camera with such a fast shutter speed they now can photograph a woman with her mouth shut.

Can't say I like it much, really any of the two tones I've seen so far but if you dig it that's all that counts.

Someone did put a wide silver pin stripe down the middle of a blue gas tank that looked pretty cool.

Thanks for the suggestions and comments. Much appreciated.

Well, after the dealer who was going to sell the fairings to me didn't call me back, I decided to postpone the purchase. I guess things happen for a reason...

Yesterday evening I finally had some free time so I headed to the garage to see how easy/difficult it was to remove the fairings. After realizing that they were just cheap POS plastics (hey, it's my first "sports" bike ), I decided I didn't want to spend $300+ on them and proceeded to strip them off the bike (I took off the lowers too).

The first pic is of the bike w/o the shield. Second pic is with the shield upside-down. (pay no attention to the cruiser in the background )
