Different fuel tank ideas?

I am facing 6 months of Winter holed up in my heated shop, and I'm considering doing a "remake" on the look of my '08 V. Remove a bunch of stuff, lower it, new shock, round headlight, lower more forward handlebars, etc. Maybe make it a modern café racer.

Does anyone have any ideas for a different, smaller fuel tank?

I don't want to go the route of modifying the existing tank, filling in the side wing brackets, etc. because I don't need to have a 5 gallon tank, and I'm seeking a different look. I may need to weld something in the end, but I'm fishing for creative ideas, input from the forum, too.

or maybe the er-6n tank as it might have less bits on the tank to attach faring etc.

I always liked the look of the er-6n tanks. Not sure how much smaller it is.

You could always take a hammer to it like the old school cafe racers did. Lot's of videos on YouTube.

For the headlight i always thought it would be cool to use one off of an old KZ650. A "tribute" to the original Kawasaki 650 "standard". I probably have one in the garage if you want it.

Look forward to seeing your progress.

I think the ER-6 tanks are 15 Liters (Versys is 19 Liters)
