The site recommended the Pillion type 1 for the Versys.
On the site if you scroll down the left side to “Weekly Specials”
You will find the pillion type1 is currently marked at 30% off, AND they will honor the additional ADV 20% off when you enter “buttbuy” on checkout.
Cost is (around $27 with shipping). It is the “Rally Grade” skin, but I think it should work quite well for me. I called first and they seem like very nice folks.

They have a couple of differents grades\quality choices...

The Rally Special is the most econimical and a great price with the weekly special. I purchased the Deluxe from them and am quite happy.

Thank you for the great info

I almost purchased one last spring but without the discount and with the shipping to Canada they become a little pricey and I had to settle for a Home made wooden bead seat.

This time I purchased one to replace my Wooden bead seat :P

Money is tight and I don't know if I can afford a Baldwin this year

I've got an alaskaleather.com buttpad and it does help keep my arse from getting chapped on long rides.
I use the normal small size buttpad and it fits perfectly although it is only usable for me and not the passenger.
On longer 2 up rides I turn it around and mount it on the pillion seat and it fits there like it was made for it as well.

I used and old sheepskin for years, then I bought an Alaskaleather pad off a friend-excellent product, use it year round unless its pissing with rain.

If I'm doing over 300miles or more, I stick an Airhawk underneath, in my view better than shelling out for a custom aftermarket seat.

Great experience with Alaska Leather and Barb!

I ordered a pad (Pilon 1 - fits like it was made for the V) but it got misplaced during inter-continental shipping, so Barb immediately sent another one via express mail and by some strange postal-work magic I received both on the same day.

It took a bit longer but all the correspondence with Barb was great.
And it's very cool to have something with 'Made in Alaska' stamp.

Cheers.

Best I can tell that deal only applies to silver in color. I would prefer black.

I purchased black. Easy to deal with and got the discount. Get ahold of Barb.
