Need More Rear Lights !!! Help !

OK, adding 37L aluminum cases. Even though they're mounted forward and down, it does have a shrouding effect on the existing tail/turn lights.

Need more lighting at the rear of the bike - and thought about mounting something to the panniers and some sort of quick disconnect.

Two additional red running lights, and at least one additional brake light. Probably will add some reflective tape also.

Anyone?

I was in a similar situation as my Pelican topcase was obscuring my brakelight somewhat. I went with:

3M Reflective tape (many colors, I have black which is black in the day and bright silver in headlights): http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=3m+scotch+reflective+tape&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3A3m+scotch+reflective+tape
I also added Custom Dynamics Magic Spots (red) attached to brakes.
http://www.customdynamics.com/magic_spots.htm They're small but VERY bright.

For reflective tape I used the tape big rigs use on the corners of my boxes
as you see here rear of box and on the sides in the rear

Also I had some 3m a friend gave me which was more playable added to the rear fender for when the bags are off

I am also looking into some lights like these . this give every thing needed for quick disconnect in one kit
http://admorelighting.com/store/inde...&product_id=70

or the multi color kit amber / and red
http://admorelighting.com/store/inde...product_id=152

or some thing a little larger

I am in the same situation and lots of people on here recommend, Admore Lighting. https://www.admorelighting.com/ They make great kits for exactly this purpose and they are long lasting and super bright.

Here is my solution:

The top 2 lights are running lights, the next two are brake lights, and the ambers are turn signals. The lights are the slim 4" trailer lights from Autozone. I cut out a piece of plexiglass I had the width of two lights and the height of 3 lights and the license plate. Paint that black and mount the lights. I had to drill a hole behind the license plate to route the wires up to the connecters under the seat.

I added two 7" LED lights (31 diodes each side), that CAN be running/ turn/ brake lights, altho' I have just set them up as running lights and turn-sigs. Bought them at Princess Auto (our version of Harbor-Freight) for about $39 each.

Initially I "hard" wired them to test their functionality. Yesterday I re-wired them to make the bags QD, using two sets of trailer-light connectors. Check my pics.

It'll make it a BIT harder for someone to say they didn't see me....

The admore lights seem a bit pricy. But maybe they're worth the extra $$$?

I know there's some cheap LED stuff out there that's not worth having.

Just asking the question.

I had a part go out on my Admore Top Case Lights which i had since 2010. They had me send it to them and they refurbished it.( I really think they sent a new one ) for free. It would have cost me $69.00 plus shipping to replace. They are a great company to deal with...

I ordered stuff from this place. This is just the truck LED light intro page.

http://www.superbrightleds.com/cat/t...er-led-lights/

And "cop car" stuff, available to the public. Just don't try to order blue. I got a Whelen TIR 3 LED light from here to use as a super bright aux brake light. Too bright for a running light.

I have a kit for my top case, and it was relatively simple to hookup. The only real issue I've had is that the connector to connect the lights in the top of the case can bend and snap easily. I ended up just bypassing it.

But it makes a definite difference. I would not hesitate to buy another kit from them.

I've installed several of those Whelan TIR 3's as auxiliary brake lights. They work well, and offer programmable flash patterns. I believe I got mine from Galls.

.
.
Here's one of the Whelan TIR 3's mounted in place of the factory installed reflector (just above the license plate) on a 2012 Super Tenere.
Used only as an auxillary brake light, and it's BRIGHT. Does not interfere with the license place light, either.
