Additional brake lights on the cheap

I wanted to give the back of my bike a bit more width and presence, and also add some lights a bit higher up than the stock brake. The Pelican topcase obscures the stock brake to some degree from a higher angle (bus/truck drivers). I checked out a few options but ultimately decided on Magic Spots from Custom Dynamics. As it turns out they are VERY bright, only draw 100ma and accomplish everything I was after for just about $30 shipped.

Garage
I have bought a bit of stuff from Custom Dynamics and love it, everything works as advertised. How did you wire them and did you put in a joiner so you can take the case off?

Great idea... plus your Pellican has some great flat surfaces for some reflective tape. I used some that I got at Walmart that have both white and red halves. They are mostly used on the side rail of semi trailers. A bit of cutting here and there gave me some exceptional nighttime reflectivity. My brother-in-law said he could see me half a mile ahead on out last nighttime outing.

The Pelican used to be setup for fast removal with a key. Turns out I NEVER removed it- so after a run-in with a light-blowing bike messenger that destroyed the anchors I went with a permanent install, so no worries about detaching the lights. I wound up running the wiring up into the lip of the case- drilling holes for it in the support fins as I went. Did not wire them to the brake flasher once I saw how bright they were- So only the lower brake light flashes. And it's impossible to see here- but there's super reflective 3M tape (black) all over the trunk. Doesn't read til light hits it but gets very bright when it does.
