Painted Shock Springs

I've noticed that many of you riding the red Versys bikes have bikes with a red spring coil. I've got a the blue V. The spring is silver. I wonder if it could be painted the same color as the bike--blue? I guess this would be a difficult thing to make happen?

The reds are 08's, the springs came red. The blue 09's came grey, take it off sand it and prime it good then it should have no problem retaining it's color

Mine was red and I painted it Silver to match the frame and plastics. Got a spring compression kit and once compressed the spring can be taken off the shock with relative ease. The hard part is re-compressing the spring after painting without screwing up your paint job.

I had mine powdercoated for $35.00. I feel that may last longer. Best wishes.

Get it powdercoated if you do it. Shouldnt cost more than $45 and will last forever and not scratch when you reinstall it.
