Versys (painted) looking better

I bought my Versys this year and couldn't stand the Green or the Blue. So I had it painted by a local guy for $1,100. Seems high, but he created the custom graphic with stencils on the side of the tank. Very clean and makes a much better looking bike. I removed the two b.s. plastic pieces below the motor as well. I also added sockets for heated vests, which makes the bike a lot more comfortable in winter. Great bike! And I highly recommend the Coocase unit. Very practical and I use it every day to haul stuff. I used the Speedy link to lower the bike (the front forks as well) and used his after market pieces to extend the mirrors and lower the pegs. I have a 43 tooth rear sprocket on order and hopefully, that will be the last of this messing about.

Looks great! Actually $1100 sounds like a good (great) price as long as the paint was baked and will stand up to the bugs, etc. without chipping. Personally I would have choose another color but that is simply a personal preference, I do like the panel a lot though. If you don't mind saying so, can you tell us who did the painting.

That looks great,I dig it. For someone that doesn't like yellow I wouldn't think twice about that scheme. Very cool.

I've love to have a yellow Versys and this make's me want one even more. The side panel is a very nice touch. Personally I'd go for a tad darker yellow, but that's just me.

Have you seen this?

Killer!

Hey, I like that! The yellow Ninja is one of my favorites, though I never thought that I'd like a yellow bike. Since seeing the Ninja, it's one of my favorite paint schemes. Never thought about it for the Versys, but now...
The plug-in setup is pretty neat too.
Did you remove all of the pieces to be painted, or did the painter do that? Just curious as to how it would affect the price.

Don't you think that it's a ^%#$&# shame that Hunter S. Thompson wasn't an adventure rider? Imagine the ride reports...!

Very nice!
I'm totally diggin' the yellow...
question about the electric plug-ins though,
where do you find one that mount flush like that?
I've only been able to find ones that mount outwards, and they don't really hold out too well on a bike...

Nice! If the green meanies get to popular around here (no danger yet, I think I have the only one in the state!) I might have to do that myself. I am sure I will have some road rash to correct by then, anyway. I love it.
