Mounting my motek rack and case/trunk question.

The rack came with a steel plate to hold the trunk.........The case came with a plastic plate. In general the directions blow for both, but I'm no stranger to wrenching on my truck or anything else. My question is this. Am i just supposed to use the plate that came with the trunk? Or both? I was thinking that I should only use the plastic plate that came with the trunk.

Thanks for the newb help guys.

Possible answer..

My kawi rack that was supposed to have been made by SW Motech... Has the Motech steel plate with the plate mounted on top of it.

I have the SW-Motech tail rack (the metal plate that mounts to the replacement grab rails) and the plastic topcase adapter plate (the plastic plate) that mounts to the tail rack using the quick-detach 3ea captured screws.

Your chosen topcase actually mounts to the plastic adapter plate, that is mounted to the tail rack.
