Marvin

So here's Marvin the Martian, my '09 greenie. I recently painted and just had to share the luv and feel the pride. i painted my PLX35 side panels, GIVI Maxia 52 topcase panel, and the spoiler. Next I want to get one of those huggers, green trim for the wheels, and a corbin seat with green piping. Oh, and I'm getting some decals of Marvin the Martian to replace the Kawi stickies. Happy 4th of July!! Where are all the red, white, and blue Kawi's out there?!

This is the link to the Tamiya Candy Lime Green TS-52 color from tamiyausa.com. It costs $6.50 per 100ml spray cans. It's so small because it's intended for little model cars and such.

Sorry, internet-challenged here. Can you see the pic now? Or at least link to it

Like that picture of Marvin, esp. the Green. Going back and forth on what kind of decal/sticker to get - full on color like the pic above or a contour in black or white. Decisions.

Yea, that picasa web site is a little tricky to figure out. Photobucket is easier, it has a link under the picture, you just copy/paste it right into your post & it works...

Okay, hopefully the photobucket images are working...

thank J - used that Tamiya TS-52 because ColorRite totaled over $66 for one spray can of base and one color. The Tamiya color isn't perfect but it's close. I'm just hoping my obsessive-compulsive streak doesn't step in and force me to buy the exact ColorRite stuff later...

I really like what you have done it looks sweet i have the green as well and sometime down the road hope to have sidecases I have the topcase from kawasaki, would love to get a corbin also mabey in the future. i just dont have much money to play with at the moment. I have a few questions what kind of shield do you have, and what does the sticker on your tank say?

Thanks Glow - if you're on a tight budget you might consider those more affordable 21 liter E21 Givi monokey Sidecases. You can pick up the matte black lid ones for $169.20 at twistedthrottle.com. You might have to check if the Givi side racks will be fine with your existing Kawi toprack and topcase, but I'm optimistic about that and someone on our forum ought to know. You'll save $50 if you buy the Givi rack instead of the SW-Motech one (but the trade off is that the Givi's are not removable).

My screen is one of the new standard aftermarket parts, the Givi one ($123.30).

What does the little sticker on my tank say? That little white one? It's the one that comes with the bike. I think it mentions type of fuel and other nonsense. I just haven't removed it yet.

I think those E21 cases look great and if you get this inexpensive paint and paint over those matte black lids then you could have yourself a real sweet looking ride on the cheap. Keep us informed what you do and be sure to post the pics.

Where's the earth shattering kaboom? Just glue a brush or broom on the tank and it will definitely look like Marvin.

Confirmed by the state patrol and county sheriff. Red V's are the fastest.

Now you'll have to wear one of those helmet mohawks and that bright gear some members of the forum use and you're all set!

I think Marvins eyes would look good on the front of the fairing above the headlight.

That's an idea, Aztec, that reminds me of the Curtis P-40 warhawks flown by the Flying Tigers. NICE!!!!
