My Matte Black/Red Versys

Hey guys, let me open by saying how helpful these forums have been for me since I've researched and purchased my 2008 Versys 1 year ago

About a week ago the V and I "fell" into some unfortunate circumstances.. albeit minor (wear your gear/ride smart!), the result of these circumstances pushed me into a new paint job that I had been thinking about doing anyway. Here are the results.. enjoy and let me know what you think

Thanks again to all the forums contributors

Ride on folks...

K, I think I deleted the ginormous pics from here... I'll get the proper size up later today.

Howdy Between2wheels,

Your V is Great and Beautiful
Notice how some misfortune made our imaginations soar.
IMHO, If you have a Lemon, make a lemonade.
My V also had a crash and respray my V. It's unique, to me.

Best Regards.

That's pretty cool. I was thinking about this during the winter, but I couldn't decide if I would like it or not. I think I might do something similar.

Well, since you asked. I think the matte black looks really good, but I'm not a fan of the matte black/gloss red mix. I'm sure the temptation was to avoid painting undamaged bits, but an all-matte finish (either all black or matte black/matte red) would really be sharp.

Either way, you did a great job of making lemondade out of lemons.

Too funny! I just spoke with a buddy last night who saw the pics online and he said the same thing GO ALL MATTE BLACK! He called it the "Bat Bike"

I really dig the matte look, however it is a porous surface.. waxes, cleaners and gasoline can really screw with the finish. So as of right now I'm ok with keeping the tank and other various parts glossy... but I've been know to change my mind by the day

Thanks for all the input folks

Right now it's a spider-man bike.
Everyone knows that batman is cooler than spiderman, especially Michael Keaton.

I don't think I've ever seen 'matte red' anyway.
