cig lighter

Anybody have a good cig lighter setup?

I'm wanting to power a GPS mainly. I would like to mount it on the handle bars if possible. I'm going on a trip soon and any feedback on your setups and links to product would be much appreciated.

thanks,

I hard-wired my GPS mount to a switchable source, that way when I turn the ignition on the GPS comes on. There are lots of 'switchable', choices on the V.

I have a cig lighter for my 12volt pump and cell phone charger. Its under the seat and directly wired to the battery via a fuse.

If I have another flat and have to use the 12v pump, I don't want to have the ignition on and risk running the battery down.

I have a two pronged side by side plug (not sure what its officially called), but the female cig socket plugs into that, so anything with a car charger plug can easily be used.

Take a look at easternbeaver.com. Jim's stuff is great and his service is impeccable. I have his PC-8 fuse panel. My Marsee tank bag has an outlet wired into it. I have had Speedy make me a custom panel that has an outlet in it. Just waiting for it to get anodized (waiting for more parts to get done as I don't want to pay the extra money for a small anodizing run).
