Question Givi E52 and tapping the brake light circuit

I'm thinking about adding the Givi top case rack to my V since I already have a Givi E52. My E52 has the factory wired brake light. With an $11 contact plate and wiring harness, the brake lights will work on the V, too. I'd guess that's important since the E52 sits somewhat aft and would probably obscure the OEM brake light to tall vehicles at short distances.

So my question deals with tapping that OEM brake wire. Can the wire feeding the V's LED brake light cluster handle the added current for the non-LED bulbs in the E52 without overheating?

Also, anyone know off hand which color wire is the brake light hot lead?

Thanks.

Yes. I have the AdMoreLighting kit in my E52 and V35 cases plus an extra LED on the back of the top case rack. I had the Givi light kit in the E52, but it was just a brake light.

Steve

I bought a motorcycle because my wife said that I couldn't! Now I have two and she still says I can't have another one!

Bump.

Does anyone know which of the three wires going into the back of the brake/tail light is for the brake light?

Bones, according to the wiring diagram in the service manual, red is running light hot, black/yellow tracer is ground and blue/red tracer is brake....
