Rad Guard. Fron Spain. Very cheap.

Hi.

I did it with a plate of aluminium with perforations.

First I cut, then I paint it with a special paint (I don't know the name in Englis, in Spanis is Imprimación) to paint after this with matt black paint.

Then I turn the top suports of the radiator and then I instal it with:

- 2 spacers of 24 mm long

- 8 washer

- 2 screws of 50 mm long

All this pieces paints too, and this is the result.

I hope it like you.

I found a bunch on Ebay under aluminum mesh and grill guard. I'm still looking for something local that I can see, touch and feel.

You could rattle can it black and save yourself about a billion hours screwing around.

If I new what I was doing, I wouldn't still be working

The price of all was 0,00 $, The plate a friend gave me a rest that he had, and the other thinks, other friend gave me it.

pretty nice. stateside you can find mesh like that in recycled building supply shops (security screen doors) at metal scrapyards, or mcmaster-carr if you want to pay thru the sniffer.
I found a nice metal mesh "inbox" that is going to work perf at a thrift store the other day.

Another source for the metal is office furniture resell places. That type of grille is used in office wall divisions as well as modesty panels on desk. And right now there is a lot of used office furniture for sale!

I like the looks of it but here in the deep
South I'm afraid it would reduce the cooling
airflow a little too much. I was hoping to
find an expanded metal small enough.
I'm sure I've seen stainless steel that
would work. That aluminum one someone
posted would be light and corrosion
resistant but might not take much of
a rock...
