My winter mods

I've started on my winter mods. First I am working on the peg area, I noticed that my shoes are rubbing the paint off beside the pegs (see attached pics) I started by painting the whole piece black and then sprayed the area that my shoes rub with some bed liner spray to hopefully stop the prob. I am going to use the spray liner above the key area as well cause I noticed my key for side cases rub there as well. Thats my start I'll post more ideas later.

Dave, where'd you get that decal?

Integrity is doing the right thing, even if nobody is watching.

Looks great! I agree, the sticker would add a bit more protection. I would worry the bed liner would rub a hole in my boots!

I must be weird, I don't get so much wear where you guys seem to (and where that sticker is), I get it mainly on/around the pivot cover, the round circle forward and up a bit of the peg.

Another option is to use this stuff they call "helicopter tape." They call it such because the military uses it on the leading edge of 'copter blades to protect them.

I read about it in MCN and I think it's what I'll go with, ultimately.

It's cheap, flexible, strong, sticky, and easily removed and replaced. Also, it comes in lots of widths.

Here is a link if you're curious...

You can make your own stickers for that area, b/c somewhere on here i found a pattern all done for us...just print out and cut it out of whatever you choose. Someone with skill on CAD program or some such techie did it for the illiterates like myself.

Thanks Henry!
Forgot about including that...

Note: I did NOT make these, I just saved it for my personal use later.
Here is the file, though. It is pdf so you can print, trace, and cut them yourself.
