Top case not closing properly

Hi all,

I have a Kappa K47 top case (https://www.kappamoto.com/cases/Mono...stem/K47-MANTA) on my V650, and the issue is it does not close/seal all the way. It does lock, but the right side does not "sit" properly, causing noise at certain RPMs (noticeable when starting cold engine for example). When I slightly push on it from the top, the vibrations and noise stops.
I presume previous owner overloaded the case at times or something.

Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I would take pictures of where the case is malfunctioning, call Kappamoto, send them the pictures and I'm willing to bet they'll help you out.

Or post some pics here so we can take a look. I've had a lot of Givi (same as Kappa) cases and have never had something similar occur. If I did, I'd begin with inspecting the rubber seal to make sure it's not partially out of place or that some little piece of something is lying in the channel. Also make sure the rubbery stringy things that run from the bottom to the lid aren't getting caught when the lid is being closed.

Some picture will help and meanwhile , is there any rubber seal around the matting surface. You may try putting some silicon to make proper/tight seating.

Hm, I've played a bit with it yesterday evening, and now I am not sure anymore my assessment was correct. It seems to me that actually the right side is ok, as it does not sit too tightly, and the rubber does it's job, but when i thump on the top case on the left side I can hear it knocking.

The engine was hot yesterday, and I didn't have anyone with me who could rev it up so I can inspect it better. I'll do some more testing and update here.

For what it's worth, the rubber seal seems ok all over, and the rubber string are not getting caught...

As for the pictures, I tried taking some yesterday, but it's hard to see anything, as we're talking maybe mm or two difference right/left side...
