MikesShields Grand Touring shield

Well I finally got the tooling and shipping logistics worked out so that I can make the largest of the windshields that I offer for the Versys. It ended up being called the "Grand Touring" .

The shield its 21 inches tall, 16 inches wide at the bottom, almost 16 inches wide at the top and has the EURO style top that significantly decreases buffeting. The windshield is made from 3/16 inch material so it is very sturdy. The price is $125 and that includes UPS ground shipping in the US. Ordering info can be found on the website in my sig.

Very nice. I have handguards on my V and my Givi large shield just barely touches the guards which works fine. Can you comment on your windshield's lower width compared to the Givi? I have never measured the Givi but will do so tonight.

Windshield looks nice. If I ordered one, Is there a way I could get it without holes. I have the Madstad adjustable brackets and I can tell it would be a little more stable with a big windshield like that if it was drilled to fit where the V-strom windshield fit. Its wider hole to hole and the hole's are further apart up and down resulting in a more solild mount.

I have no idea how wide the Givi is but there is over an inch of clearance between anywhere on the handlebar and my shield when turned full lock.

You bet, the ones that have been ordered have been ordered without holes probably for the same reason you mentioned.

BTW my glove size is XXL If it looks like it will hit I can always custom cut them for handguards once I know how much would need to be trimmed.

Yikes, that sucker is BIG!

Japanese scientists have created a camera with such a fast shutter speed they now can photograph a woman with her mouth shut.

If you've ever done any long distance touring you'll appreciate that "big".

I take it that these pictures are with the bars full lock left and full lock right? If so you have about 2-1/2 on the sides. With my Barkbuster hand guard it look like it just might fit. I think I will give it a try

Looks very nice. I have the Givi which appears to be more narrow at the top which gives me more wind hitting the shoulders. Still, that has not been a problem with me, even on rides that lasted all day.

From my experience, the larger the screen equals better wind protection, but....the larger the screen, the more you're blown around in cross winds that catch the large screen.

It sure is a beauty... MikesShields (gti20vturbo) does of course also offer a state-of-the-art 17" tall clear or tinted Touring shield for $70, as well as a 12" tall tinted Sport version for $45, with option on desired height. I'm getting a custom 14" tall tinted Sport.

Im Not Sure If I Am Reading This Right. If I Buy One Will It Come With Holes Drilled In It So I Just Have To Bolt It On Or Do I Have To Drill My Own?

erxray62; Its like BurgerKing, what ever you want!! (they typically come drilled unless the buyer wants it without holes)

Larry, are you going with the big one, or just the touring screen?

(Yes, I expect a ride report after you get it so I know whether or not to send Mike some money for one. )
