Barkbusters

So who has fitted these and how? I recently ordered a set and they don't seem to fit on the bike for crap. The instructions said to bolt them straight in w/o the stock bar internals and no end weights, but I'm not drilling out stock bar internals (I shouldn't have to). They were an easy, no modification bolt-on when I had them on my CB500X.

I tried some longer bolts and put my bar-ends on the outside, but that still twisted them a lot. I tried straight bolting them w/o the bar ends then they didn't line up with my handle bars at all. I would have had to twist them quite a bit to get them to line up.

So, I KNOW some of you folks have them, since they are a popular, and good, bit of kit. How did you fit them?

I have a Gen2 by the way.

Edit: it seems the biggest issue is the front brake master cylinder line. It just will not line up with that in the way.

First , this is a MK-3, not a 2 like yours, I also had a MK-1. The kit when ordered is bike specific, comes with the proper weights, ( original weights are removed and a shorter weight is supplied) no drilling anything. I was surprised when I ordered them from my dealer, as I thought that it was a universal kit. Part of it was as it came with some expansion bolts and various other hardware I didn't need. And as to the front brake, yes it is a challenge on the MK-3, however my kit fit perfectly.

Yup, i have them on my Gen 1 and bought them with the bike specific installation kit. Fitted like gloves. No problems anywhere.
Recently even added the daylight driving lights because my chinese lights crapped out.

When I put SS brake lines on my '08 (did the ZETA XC handguards first), I had issues w/ master-cylinder clearance. I bought a piece at my local hardware and was able to adjust them perfectly. MIGHT work for you, too.

Here's the clearance "problem"

and here's the piece I bought and the longer bolt

and the finished product.

I'm pretty sure that it would work for you too.

Finally got around to looking at my original order. I ordered the wrong kit. I didn't realize there were different kits. Sucks 'cause I don't have the packaging for them now so I can't return them. I emailed Twisted Throttle to find out if there's any way I can get the individual components I'm missing.

Oct 18th Update: Twisted got back to me and the total for parts I'm missing is $78 without shipping. Emailed them back to find out how much shipping is. If it pushes up to 100 bucks, I may as well just order the proper kit, and try to sell off the other one. [EDIT2: Free Shipping!]
