I have the Zeta Armor hand guards, with the XC led turn signal covers. I'm quite happy with them. I also appreciate having the turnsignals on them so that while my bike is facing forward the second set of signals is pointing into the turn.

I like the Kawasaki branded ones as the metal bar is powdercoated black and the fit is perfect. The aftermarket ones I've seen don't have the bar powdercoated.

No, I had them, but they are really just in the way, not needed for road riding.

My Zeta's are black on black on black. In fact you can choose from a number of colors for both the metal bar and the cover. I got a great deal on a combo package for just over a hundred bucks, but checking ebay now I don't see any similar packages. Regardless- Well happy with them and no fitment issues.

Moose Racing Competition Motorcycle Handguards with the aluminum bars. Came with the bike when I got it. They offer several colors.

Only problem: I can't get the bars out of the barends. They musta used the serious color of Locktite. I realy want to install a Bar Snake.

So, I just picked up the Moose Racing Contour set, but could not get them to fit correctly. http://www.adventuremotorcycleparts....Category_Code=

The left side works fine with the bar on the outside of the bar weights, but I could not get the right side to work with the big brake reservoir there. I tried with a Kaoko, and both inside and outside of the factory weights. I could only get it to fit together on the inside, which looks terrible, plus it had to be tilted up to the point that they would no longer protect the tips of my fingers, which is what needs it most.

Guess I'll exchange them for some Barkbusters. So much for trying to save a few bucks!

Acerbis Tri Fit with bar end mirrors

Here is a pic of my '11 with Acerbis Tri Fit hand guards. I just used a longer bolt to keep my bar ends and added bar end mirrors.

Just curious....what do the hand guards do for you guys? Do the keep your hands warmer in cold or dryer in rain? I thought about getting some but I don't do any off road stuff.

Lovin every minute of it!

They protect your bar ends and levers if you drop your bike... or should I say... when you drop your bike. I have Barkbuster Storms and they've saved one brake lever for me so far. When I wash my bike I discover how many insects (some quite large) have not impacted my gloves. And they make me look (in my own mind) bad ass... So that's probably the main reason I have them.

I like my Barkbusters because, in a country where windchill is always a factor in every month except July (I think), they keep the wind off my hands and therefore warmer!

I recently got acerbis plastic guards, don't know if they'll offer much protection to the leavers but they are great at keeping hands a bit warmer and drier

Some of the people here don't agree, but my ZetaXC guards, besides protecting levers (and MY hands!) in case of a fall, also reduce wind effects when the plastic bits are ON, so I remove the plastics when it warms up, and put 'em back ON when it cools down.... (Of course, the aluminum 'spine' is ALWAYS there for protection.)
