Simple Cheap DIY Seat Mod

I put 300 km on my new 2012 Versys and said the seat has to go! I bought 2 high density foam seat pad from Canadian Tire (camping section), less than 7 dollars each. After I was happy with the fit I took it to a local seat shop where they filled the space around my foam so the cover would look good, total cost less than 20 dollars. Did a 1500 km trip over 3 days and never thought about my butt once (and I have a sensitive butt). It raised the seat about 1/2" but I have a 34" inseam so all is good. This seat is now more comfortable than the 1000 dollar Mustang I had on my VTX. Total time was 4 hours.

Thanx to the DIY'ers on this site for giving me the confidence to do it!!!

Damn, I might have to steal this material idea. They are $10 now at CT, but still, foam is expensive for special stuff so $20 is not much for these two pads. I plan on modifying my seat this week sometime.

I really hate the seat. I keep sliding forward and squashing my goods. Sucks. This looks like a great idea!
