Wheel stripes....

As I always seem to damage the wheel stripes while changing tires, I decided to make sure both wheels would have the damaged stripes on the SAME side - the left - and proceeded to change my tires.

When done, I removed the damaged green 7mm stripes and put 5mm yellow-green fluorescent ones on, and here are 2 pics. (My plan's are to 'damage' the right side stripes NEXT time, then put the 5mm ones there too.)

Any thoughts on WHICH color YOU prefer???

(RED, BLUE, etc do NOT count!)

Any color strips are tacky.
I'd use the clear/reflective ones just for the sake of nighttime visibility.

Green looks like it belongs, maybe a factory option. Yellow stands out too much against the green bike.

I just updated the pics, with the yellow one now taken while on the rear stand to make the stripes more visible, and "dialed back" the brightness.

I like the green myself. I have a black 07 and wanted black tape but settled with white.

I would like the Yellow if it were on the green side. It ties in nicely with the yellow shock spring. Where they are it just looks odd.

An easier/cheaper alternative is to buy a role of reflective tape, it's in the bicycle section of most dept stores and stick some on your helmet. I just put a continuous band around the collar (lower edge) of mine and it does not look bad.

I got a lesson in how important night time visability is about a month ago. I came close to rear ending a Harley rider on my bike. The guy was wearing all black on a black bike with only one of those dim side mounted tail lights. All I could see of him was a dim golf ball sized glowing orb about six inches off the pavement and not until I got really close. He was stopped behind a mini van with bright elevated tail lights in a line of traffic. My eyes were fixated on the mini van's tail lights and I did not notice the Harley rider behind him until I was literly right up on him.
