New seat design

In a search for relief. I went 1900 miles last week, Daytona and beyond. I think my seat was okay. It's just my Butt is too big. I found a two piece design for as little as 49.00 with optional heat. Its very comfortable and I love the way it gives me that backward tilt the bike as been needing. It is more than a inch higher than stock seat but I have the speedy lowering kit on my bike so it put me close to back where I was. This gives my legs lots more room to strech. Tell me what you think.

Ok, it looks good, but how about a link to the seat?

golfmuch, the only thing I dislike about that seat is the fear that I have that it's going to make me regret the 2nd mortgage I had to take on my house to get my Corbin.

I think it looks sharp and comfortable to boot.

I went off the the deep end. The rear piece is the original seat cut in just the right place. It still hooks under and latches in place. The front is off Ebay. Its a BMW RT 1150/1100 seat. The comfort gel dose the best but any will do. The BMW seats are popular and they come with optional heat. It took me 4 trys before I got one at a good price. I did'nt want to pay too much in case my Ideal didnt work. I have a RT at the house that I am trying to sell for a friend. I had the seat off one day and looked at the versys and thought hmmm. It take's a little creative customizing but it worked out for me perfect. Now that I know I can make it work I may try and find a OE comfort gel with heat.

Is the R1150 foam attached to the original Versys seat pan? Can you post pics of the underside?

Its two different pieces. Just like on the BMW. Its has to be a 1100 or 1150 RT. I will try and get more pics. The original pan has been cut. You leave the metal bracket and the hook that latches under the back. There's a tongue on the back of the BMW seat that looks like the one on the Versys front. It will slide under the rear section. Pictures will explain better. I will try to take some this weekend.

Ahh... So the cut rear section is latched in to the original latch. And the BMW seat tongue is slipped under the rear seat. Does gravity hold the front part of it down? Is the BMW seat modified at all?

The only part of the BMW seat that is modified is the front where the origial cups are. They are plastic half round cups that need to be ground or cut off.

Took a little trip to 29 dreams motorcycle resort today. This seat is the Bomb. It's night and day. Talked to ten guys today. No one thought it was not the original seat. Of course none of them were Versys Enthusiast. Took some more pics. Let my wife try it out. She said " that seat should have been on there from the factory". I agree. I dont think a passenger would agree. I did spot a rear seat on a 1150 R that looked like it belonged on the back of a Versys. Hmmmmmmm

How about a couple of pics with the seat off the bike, the bottom of the seat & how it connects to the Versys. Very interesting set up for sure & the price is right!!

I will try and make some pics soon. The BMW seat itself takes 1 minute of work. The front cups are cut off. I used a cut off wheel on a air dremel. The rear bumpers are nothched. Thats it. The Versys oe seat is cut in half and the rear foam was trimed. I'm not happy with the rear piece yet. No one sits back there anyway. I bought a rear 1100 r rear seat. I am planing to work it into the picture. It sits up alot higher. It will help make a back rest.
