Heated grips - how cool is that?

Rode last weekend with heated grips for the first time ever and in a late night blast home I made use of them and they rock!

I must have wired the switch wrong cos the Low was hotter than the Hi either way they were fantastic.

I used the simple adhesive element type that stick directly to the bars. Fairly easy to hook up. Next time I might try the actual grips with elements in them.

Well worth the small investment in money and time. ALong with some nice GoreTex gloves and a snug jacket I was very comfy.

Looking to keep my finger tips from going numb! What brand, and where did you get them?

I was amazed at what a difference just having warm hands makes. Now I am thinking of getting heated feet warmer thangs.

Good luck. Les

There has been a lot of talk lately about heated grips, gloves, vests, coats, etc.

One question I haven't seen addressed (may have just missed it), is how well heated grips work for keep the whole hand warm. I'm curious because I'm mostly concerned about the tops of my fingers, which I would not think would benefit much from heated grips. Should I be more interested in heated gloves or do the grips have the effect of keeping the whole hand warm?

I fancy myself tougher than the average bear, but I'm starting to see the light when it comes to all of this heated gear stuff. I just want to make sure I get the right thing for my needs.

Thanks,
Chris

Do they keep your fingertips warm? I have glove liners, but even with them my index finger on my throttle hand JUST FREEZES! I just put on some KTM Hand Guards Saturday, but they did little to help - another $54 down the drain.

If I can just get my fingers warm and my Visor to keep from freezing up I'm good to go!

The trick to keeping your hands warm is keeping the cold air (wind chill) off of them. I put handguards on my bike, and it was the best thing for my hands ever. I also have Aerostitch wrap around grip heaters, but with them only like you said the backs of my fingers got very cold even though the bottoms, and palms were warm.

jnor, I see where you're coming from. It sounds like I will be pretty well good to go with grip heaters then. I have Acerbis Multiconcept Touring handguards and shields. I definitely don't have the freezing problem that some others are experiencing, but then again, it hasn't been that cold yet.

I think my solution is going to be grip heaters and a little bit better gloves. I am using Olympia Trailblazers (?) right now, and I think I need something a little more windproof.

Thanks for the additional info.
