Cruise Control

Here's an interesting Cruise Control that I haven't seen before. Has anyone here used it?

Never used that particular one, but from what I've read about that brand elsewhere, it is one of the better friction type throttle locks.

Oh yes, I have the Kaoko and like it very much. It is a bit pricey, but it works extremely well, better than any throttle lock I have used before. The replacement bar-end weight is not an exact duplicate of the left side, but it is so close that no one will notice unless they stand there and keep looking. $95 is a good price. I paid something like $110 not including shipping.

Question

While I don't doubt it's a good and effective cruise control system, I wouuld hink $95 dollars would be rather expensive for such a simple and small product. I probably does not cost more than 5 dollars in material to produce.

Think this was less than $20.00. Its easy to set with your thumb. You don't have to take your hand off the throttle, to set or release it.

Machog, that looks like the Vista Universal. Is that right?

I have a slightly different version of the Vista and I've had a heck of a time getting the tension right on it. It seems like if I get it tight enough to really hold the throttle tube, then it's like a hair trigger to release so that the slightest tough will release it. If I get it such that it will stay engaged, it's not tight enough to hold the grip.

I had to do a little modification to the ID of the Vista ID when I installed it, so maybe I took a little too much off. I don't know, but I find that I don't really use it much because it's so temperamental.

I wish I could rely on it more.

A guy I work with has one on a Connie. He gave it a very good review. I ordered one bout a week ago due to be delivered Wed.

I will try and post some pics of the install.

I have the Kaoko throttle lock. Works great, and relatively cheap.

Is the Kaoko like the Throttle lock in usage? I found that very awkward to use.

I had the Vista Universal on my TA and loved it. Flick with the thumb and you are set - no sliding to the end of the grip with inherent change of speed etc etc

This last trip I had one of those palm rest things which was ok but you can't lock the throttle. I was thinking of putting the Vista Cruise on the V but have no room with my current hand guard set-up.

The only other downside of the VC was that it looks cheap IMHO unlike the bar-end solutions.

Todd has the other Vista Cruise that slides down between the grip and the plastic assembly and says it works great. Todd?

dallason, here's a link, but I didn't pay this much for it.

It was around $20.00, but can't remember where I got it from.
