Are fairings interchangeable?

Forgive me if this has been discussed, but I can't find any info on this. My question is, are the fairings between the older style V's and the new style interchangeable? I would imagine the tank needs to be replaced as well to accomodate the fairings. I have a 2007 burnt orange versys, which I really have enjoyed, but have always found the front of the bike a little odd. If it's just a matter of tank and fairings, I might like to update the look. Any ideas, opinions, suggestions?

I don't know for sure, but I'd be very surprised if you could merely bolt on newer design bodywork. Have you considered a custom repainting? This could really change the look and get you excited about your bike again. Kinda like when the missus puts on her french maid uniform.......

I don't they are, as the mounting points are different. What I've seen that was nice was to paint black the top fairings that surrounds the lamp.

I heard that the main frames of the Versys are the same as the ER6n and the EX650 (Ninja). I think they change the body parts, subframe and the suspension and leave the core. I checked BikeBandit, all the bikes have the same frame part numbers "32160" with optional color choices I think that if you changed enough stuff, you could get a 2009 Versys to look like a 2010 Versys or a Ninja or an ER6n.

Actually.. I looked at them closer and they are all a bit different I think...

The big deal is the headlight bracket and such.
