Magic Blinkers installed

Front and rear signals are now 100% on as running lights and blink 'off' when signal is activated.

Front signals were a little ornery, but the rear ones were really easy since all the wiring is right there under the seat.

Will need to replace the signal relay with an electronic one as the signals blink a little too fast.

Magic Blinkers

To save a few watts, I replaced the license plate light and city lights with LEDs. Thinking of going with a yellow low beam to make the bike stand out more since there are a lot of cars now with DRLs and I think bikes don't stand out as much as they used to.

Does your signal indicator on the dash stay ON while riding and blink while indicating a turn?

Good question, but no. Dash light work as normal. The magic blinkers are simply an electronic version of a standard 12v relay.

Damn. That means I could have done it with a simple(?) wiring change. I didn't even think to look at the non-U.S. wiring diagram to see if it was different. Oh well, it's done now and works great. All bikes should be this way to start with.

The DRL for bikes needs a special blinker/running light relay. Unfortunately, this relay makes LED blinks fast. You would still need a LED blinker relay to replace the stock relay.

Ok. Not so simple. I like my solution better.

Garage
For this could you have added a new fused relay. disconnected the blinker relay output and reconnected that to normally closed on new relay. Turn signals now lit full time. Then use the turn signal blinker output to turn on the new relay so that it disconnects the power to turn signals. one wiring change under seat to fix them all.

That's what I did on my DR650, but you need a relay for every signal, just like the magic blinker is needed per signal. Just one relay won't work.
