Changing the Spring Color?

Anyone change the color of the rear spring? I have some scratches and a dent in the tank so I am going to repaint with a different color. I was wondering if anyone has changed the color of the spring. If so, did you just paint it or did you powder-coat it?

I have not but was thinking about it

And I wanted to use some colored electrical shrink tube
I figured the the flex of that product was very good, the colors choice was ok and fit and finish would be #1

But i would have to remove the spring ...

Been discussed before. Powder coat is the way to go.

Why paint or powder coat when you can just cover it...

I was thinking about this same thing. Fry's has lots of color options and sizes of heat shrink.

Got it on amazon. It smaller than needed had to use a couple strips of velcro to make it work and its a little shorter than i like http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000WKARFG
If you like black theses would be a good choice because of the choice of sizes http://www.traxxion.com/ventedshocksock.aspx

I like the look of the exposed spring, that's why I want to paint it to match, or else I'd just do it black and be done with it.
