Dashboard replacement

Hey, I've spoken to a few guys about replacing the Versys dashboard with something else (for example: https://www.thirdgear.com.au/cafe-ra...white-backing/). They're all of the opinion that it'd be in the too-hard-basket there 'might' be a computer in the dashboard.

Has anyone tried wiring an aftermarket speedo into the appropriate connections of the Versys Dashboard harness?

Soooo... there shouldn't be any problems with re-routing the pigtail connections into an electronic, 'high quality', aftermarket speedo like this: High Quality 12V Motorcycle Digital Dual Odometer Speedometer With LED Backlight | eBay ?

Thanks for the replies. How do you tell if it's cable-driven? That came up under a search for 'motorcycle electronic speedometer'. I couldn't see 'cable-driven' among it's specifications.

The huge center connector that a speedo cable connects to. The other wires are for the back lighting.

You are probably looking for something like this: Trail Tech Vapor Computer Kit - Water-Cooled | MotoSport

I doubt there is a computer in the dashboard. But it would probably be a bit of work to swap out.
