Cheap fender eliminator

Courtesy of a distracted minivan pilot, my rear fender was "modified" on the way home from work yesterday. Mr. Dremel took care of cleaning up the remaining plastic a bit, and the mangled license plate was massaged back into shape with a flat board and a padded ball peen hammer. Still making the driver pay for a new fender, but in the meantime it looks (mostly) like it's supposed to be chopped off. Who knows, I may just keep it that way, although I ride in the rain/salt/slop so we'll see if it throws a stripe onto the top case. :^)

I believe that it will because it did on mine. To solve the problem, I added a rubber flap below the license plate.

Yeah, my post was from last year. I have the replacement fender on hand, but may never install it. I was always running into that long stinger in the garage, and it prevented me from using two Pit Bull stands I tried. So far, the top case has been catching the rain and winter slop/salt. I've recently added a plate backer from the ADVrider.com forum, which hangs down at least an inch, which helps a little bit, too. When my tags are due for renewal in two years, the DMV may have something to say about the missing fender and/or reflector, we'll see.

You could always add a piece of red reflector tape onto the license bracket....

I've thought about hacking off that bottom part as well, as it's a pain to finagle the rear stand around it when lifting it up every time I have to clean the chain, which I'll be doing today. We'll see if it enrages me enough today to take action. (probably not, I'm all talk)

I like the idea of the fender eliminator kits, but they put the turn signals back so far you can't see them due to the side cases (Givi E22).

You can't judge a book by its cover, but I know a coloring book when I see one.
