Mounting Kawasaki top case

The rack the the top case and mount attach to (on the grab rails) has been on backorder for weeks. Is there another option I can use to mount the OEM top case and base plate? Does one fro Givi work?

I need this whole section since the 650 doesn't come with the rear rack from the factory.

Your pic looks like what Joe has on his 1000.

I used the rack from Givi on my 650LT, it was around $35 I think. Works great. Here's my post about it: http://www.kawasakiversys.com/forums...rks-great.html

Here's the rack on RevZilla: https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/...-650-2015-2017

You'll need a Givi plate to go on the rack also. If you already have the Kawasaki plate - I think that's just a Givi plate and will fit onto the SR4114 rack.

Yep, I see the Givi SR4114 Top Case Rack on Revzilla, and I have the Kawasaki mount. I'm just trying to find that plate tar hours between the two rack mounts and the top case mount.

You do need a plate. I used a Givi M7 with my SR4114 rack. I think the M7 looks better than the Kawasaki branded Givi plate. I think the Kawasaki branded Givi plate is a Givi E251. I am not sure if that plate will fit on the SR4114 rack. I'm guessing not.

I was looking at those. Luckily the Kawasaki plate is flat with any abundance of mounting holes.

I'll report back later to see if the two are compatible, thanks for the assistance!

aboyandhisversys likes this.

And as I flipped into 6th, I could not remember a damn thing she said ....

I had the Givi SR4114/M7 combo on my 2015 so that works for sure. The SR4114 wouldn't work with the SW-Motech side racks I wanted to install, so I switched the top case set-up to the SW-Motech mounts and steel luggage rack (with Givi Monokey adapter kit so I could use my V-47 case). That's two combos that can work for you. Below is the SW-M set-up, minus the Givi adapter kit, which I hadn't yet installed when the pic was taken.

You ALSO need the two pieces alongside your 'red' outline. They attach to the handguards, then the others attach to them. That is what I did, BUT I would have done the other had I had the opportunity. Here's pics of mine (and the aluminum piece I made to attach my tent, etc). I also disabled the "sliding" function of the rack.

As you can see, I also added additional brake lights as the rack can obscure the OEM lights from certain angles.

The Givi SR4114 is that part (it stands in for that part) outside the red area.

The Givi rack is now confirmed to work with the Kawasaki base plate. I had to drill two new holes in the plate but for $35 I can't complain.
