Anyone put on an under tray / under tail?

Hi All,

I am considering putting on an under tray / under tail to clean up the the tail. I have seen pictures of the Ermax, ESpace Tuning, and Topline products.

Do anyone have any experience / feedback on these products or other under tray products?

Thanks,
Colin

Talking Tail Cleaning

I cut mine off with a coping saw and some sandpaper. If you notice the underside of the tail is very clean to begin with. Here's what mine looks like.

I also added an LED under the tail light to illuminate the license plate. I'll post a photo of that as soon as I take a picture.

Nice neat job. Obviously you won't be carrying a passenger, but is there enough structure to hold you securely if you hit a pot hole??

Noticed you are in sunny Bellingham, got to love that Chuckanut Drive mid week when the sluggish cagers aren't clogging it up-I'm in Redmond just down the road.

Did quite a bit of research before I removed the trellis. This is the same frame as the Ninja which has no trellis and mounts the rear pegs to the frame. The structure was added to provide support and mounting options for touring accessories.
I have not noticed any frame flex or deflection during my highly unscientific studies on Chuckanut, Lake Whatcom Blvd or
Hwy 529

Hey Bicyclebob, how heavy are you? I played around with taking the trellis off but got a little nervous when I put the 230# and beer cooler back on the bike. Also, how are those stocker tires treating you in the loose stuff? Kudos on your mountain picture, probably the best pic I have seen on this forum.

240# with a built in beer cooler!
I'll be glad when they finally wear out. Looks like another 1500 or 2k should do it.

bob, the frame on the ninja has support tubes welded in by the brake fluid res. I took my trellis off, than after inspecting my wifes 650r frame, reinstalled them.

just my $0.02, pics to follow if requested.
