Gen 2 windshield cross bar thing

Does anybody make a bracket that would mount above the gauges? I made a bracket that held my GPS for my Gen 1 but was hoping to just buy something for the Gen 2. Can't seem to find anything but I'm not sure what it would be called.

Mine mounted to the windscreen brackets but not sure that will work on the Gen 2.

There is this one: Kawasaki Versys 650 2010-2014 GPS Camera Phone Holder Bar | eBay but I thought it was a bit too expensive so I made one. It's just a piece of aluminum flat bar bent twice and I mounted a RAM mount to it with some self tappers.

Thanks. That is exactly what I was thinking about doing. $55 for the ebay version is way too much for me.

It was pretty easy, just need 4 more well nuts. It is hard to tell from the pictures but I used the 2 windshield mounting holes that line up vertically to mount the flat bar and the windshield slides over top. Depending on how thick the bar you use and how stiff your windshield is, you may want to heat up the windshield before putting it back on so it doesn't crack.
