wind shield bracket

Has anyone made a bracket mount behind the wind shield? I was thinking of extending the bolts and then fitting a cross piece between them on the drivers side of the screen, then use it to mount a gps.

Looked at the universal mount for the 2015-2016. How do you attach a phone to that? Looks like it's just a flat steel plate

I had a home-made one, and it vibrated. Actually too many rubber mounted points I think in my design made it sloppy.

I went from that to a handlebar mounted RAM ball mount, which works fine.

yet, I wanted to have my GPS directly forward for viewing....

I went with a genuine KAWASAKI accessory.... apparently they made a GPS mount for the first gen all along.

STOLEN FILE PHOTO FROM GOOGLE:

EXAMPLE of one full price on ebay:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-2008-200...5T2jbg&vxp=mtr

They are or were like $89 bucks... I was patient and found one on ebay for $48, new old stock.

I LOVE IT. No shake. It does have some pitch adjustment, but it's pretty much make an initial adjustment to suit you, and forget it.

I found a new old stock Garmin Nuvi 40 LM r-furb. GPS, got a clamshell RAM mount bracket for it and it all came together well. Sits close enough to the windscreen so the GPS has not risked getting wet in a light rain, yet it's just far enough from the screen so the GPS does not hit it or vibe on it.

If It rained very hard, or I stopped, I would pull it and put it in my pocket.

I am feeding it from a dedicated hard-wired fused adapter on a switch. Wire is feed up along/behind left side faring panel.

Installed on my bike:
