Change backlight and facia of cluster (08)

So I picked up my 2008 Versys on Monday... Only to take it back because the starter motor brushes were stuffed. Now waiting on parts from Japan.

But once I do get it back, I really want to change the colour of the backlight for the digital display and the face of the analogue display. Is it do-able? I had a quick search and couldn't find anything.

Only pictures I have seen of the instrument panel actually being taken apart..
If I HAD to guess here, and I may be wrong, the backlights for the LCD screen are not changeable. However, with a crafty mind you could bypass this.
Have you considered aftermarket speedometers?

You will have to pull the face off.
All the LED's will be surface mount. Replacing them can be done but it is difficult as they are small and generally need SMC hot air guns to take off and put new ones on.

Replacing the Dial Face might be difficult as it is translucent and back lit. Putting a sticker on top will block the back lighting.

It's (relatively) easy. Just get a color tinted Paint Protective Film material: the same way you change colors for your headlights. They have them already cut to go over headlights (for your 1st gen Vs. 650), but you'd have to cut them out to go over your instruments.
