Akrapovic full system for 2015 >

Spotted a ad from a kawasaki Facebook post about free akrapovic exhaust for ninja and z650. Low and behold it fits a versys! Looks good too! When the funds are good im in for a set!

No re-map? I find that hard to believe for a full system.

All full systems increase the flow thru the engine and therefore require an adjustment of Air/Fuel ratios.

Can you run a full exhaust without adjusting A/F ratios?...yes and many guys do but to unlock all the performance one needs to install a power commander or get the ECU flashed to compensate for the increase in flow. The increase of flow will cause a lean condition and the annoying popping on deceleration with the throttle off.

Right now nobody has a flash available for the Versys 650 so the PC is the only option.

Cookin Wid Gas

2015 V-650 of course it's green...it's a Kazawalski.

As others have stated to unlock the full potential of a non stock exhaust you need to adjust fuel mapping. Even then the power increase is not going to be dramatic. The problem with this is, is if add up the cost of an aftermarket exhaust and a power commander, why not just buy a more expensive bike with a bigger engine? You'll get your money back from the more expensive bike usually at resale, but not from accessories like exhaust. The other issue is weight. An aftermarket exhaust of course weighs less but the exhaust on the versys is carried under the engine where the addition or subtraction of a few pounds is not going to be noticeable. IMO aftermarket exhausts are an enhancement but not one that makes a lot of sense on the benefit/$$ scale unless you are simply doing it for the joy of tinkering and fine tuning your bike.
