Givi windshield + howling

I installed a givi windshield on my 2011 versys a few days ago. I've noticed that the thing whistles like crazy! In fact, from about 80km/hr to 100 or so it howls like a banshee. Anyone else notice that? What can I do to fix it?

Try turning your head and see if its the helmet or the wind screen. SCreen Tilt angle can reduce wind howling noise.

+1. Using a Neotec with music plugs. Music went a bit louder as un-muffler Scorpion could wake up the dead.

Using the Givi shield (2011 V)with a MRA spoiler.

This is my solution for wind reduction on the screen and also wind distribution.

See the lower part where I have cover the bottom opening.

Putting the vent is not easy due to the difference of the curve on the screen and Vent- Honda Goldwing Air Vent.

Hope it helps.

That's really weird because mine doesn't howl at all...

What position did you mount it in?

I have mine in highest possible setting, and it's less noisy than the short factory windscreen in any setting which leaves me mostly in the wind. I don't notice any more noise.

It's how the wind deflects off the W/S and hits your helmet. I have a Open face helmet which whistles when doing speeds from 40 kph with stock W/S. No issues with my Full Face helmet.

Try lowering your head a little and see if the noise stops. Like said, it's probably the helmet.

I have a Givi windscreen and no whistling or noise for three years. I have not heard of that problem before.

Steve

I bought a motorcycle because my wife said that I couldn't! Now I have two and she still says I can't have another one!
