I installed a 43 rear sprocket... I like it!

I read all the post about a 16 front or a 44 rear. I figured I'd split the difference and install a 43 rear.

I must say the bike is nicer to ride now. More flexibility and no "real" drop off on acceleration. I like the fact I can run first gear more than a few feet and the bike seems to run smoother and shift smoother.

I averaged 50 mpg last tank and I'm curious to see what I'll get now with the taller gearing.

Keep in mind that although your speedometer is now nearly dead accurate, your odometer/tripmeter reads about 93.47826086956522 % of what it did before, with your gearing that is now 6.9767441860465 % taller than stock.... So, you can now multiply your indicated mileage by 1.07 (1.069767441860465).

All right! Nothing like a few handy rough approximations for quick, on the fly, calculations

I was planning on ordering a 43 tooth rear sprocket but I don't think my feeble brain can handle the conputational requirements. Canadian citizens are apparently a bit better at mathematics than us 'mericans.
