Green Goddess has new shoes

I've had a pair of Shinko 705's waiting for time to get mounted on my "V" for a while now. I got around to it this morning. I did the 140 rear and 120 front. http://www.chaparral-racing.com/prod...s-055-kit.aspx

The OEM tires were scary at best. Yesterday morning I was cruising NW Arkansas and popped up over a hill where a turn lies just beyond. In the apex of a turn there had been recent road construction and the contractor had left some fresh asphalt paving crumbs on the pavement. As I hit the apex my rear tire let loose in the crumbs. I was doing 65 MPH when I hit them. I know the road well so I was already leaning a bit for the turn on the other side. I almost lost it, in fact it was really close.

So, this morning the tires were changed. As noted by someone on this forum (can't remember who) the new tires turn in slower and that will take some getting used to. I will say even with the rubber nubs still on the tire they are already feeling more grippy.

Those tyres/tires look like they could tempt you back onto some dirt Charlie.........(or at the very least a few gravel tracks!)

I'm getting $141.70 + tax for both, that's a good price.........How much do you charge for fitting them Charlie!!!??

I ask my friend Albie to do it on his NoMar machine. You'll have to work that out with him

Cheers,

Charlie

EXCELLENT.

I think it's the coolest combination for a Versys for dual sport riding. I did a 130 front and 150 rear though.

Great tires.

Did you have to modify (raise) the front fender?

Those tires looks so good

To fit the 130/80 on the front you WILL have to raise the front fender.

Those look plenty grippy for off pavement. They make a rear in 150/50. Just curious why you chose a 140 rear? Also are they radial or bias ply? Do they need tubes?
