Two Brothers Slip-On P1-X Tip

Does anyone with a Two Brothers slip-on have the P1-X tip installed in it?

I am wondering just how much quieter 7-8dB really is? I love the pipe but wish it wasn't quite so obnoxiously loud.

According to Rick from Two Brothers:
"The tips reduce the sound quite a lot. There is a draw-back to them however. Depending on mileage, and riding style, you will need to re-pack the canisters more often. It is nearly impossible to say when that periodic maintainance will be required, but it is a side-effect of increased heat-retention caused by the tips restriction to exhaust flow. You may need to re-pack every year (10,000-15,000 kms). I cannot tell because there are so few customers who run the tips......Big twins (Suzuki V-Strom 1000) are harder on muffler packing to begin with..."

They also have a 3-4 db quieter M Series P1 Race Pipe PowerTip which is less restrictive, and has less impact on performance.

I have ridden with the P-1 and no tip. The P-1 does cut the DBs a bit. With no tip itís pretty loud, and you get just a bit better power output. I love with no tip because I am heard. I want to be hard when cruising. And it works, I notice drivers looking in their mirrors more to see "what that noise is". I do a lot of highway miles and commuting.

I donít rev at a stop light to attract attention. I and all the women I have been with are pleased with my penis size. I consider it a safety precaution.

NOTE: when I added the arrow headers i noticed not only a boost in power but a different tone and even louder.

Creeper - Let me know how the P1-X sounds when you get it. I too like the fact that I am heard out there on the road. People really do look around to see what that noise is. I consider it safety as well. Have you ever had to repack the can?

i use to have the Twobros exhaust with the P1 and the difference is not that much, my TBR can lasted 1 day after removing it from the versys, returned to the original can, cause it was to loud for my taste, i am waiting for the new Black arrow silencer can, the only thing the P1 do is the can to look nicer that is it

Ditto. I ran mine for a few long trips and then went back to stock. Even with the tip its extremely loud.

I've been running the Two Brothers can with the tip and yes, it is loud, but not overly so, at least to me. I agree with Creeper, I am heard and that has made a big difference on occasion. Sure, an idiot with a cell phone will still try to kill you, but with the can (and the Fiamm Freeway Blaster horn, a must change, IMO) at least the somewhat attentive know I am coming.

And anyway, you can either wear earplugs or put in earbud headsets for your iPod/MP3 player and you won't notice it...

Yup, twice. I have the carbon fiber so you have to treat them nice. I wouldnt say i had to both times. I replaced when i did the oil changes. They where a bit burnt but no damage to the can itself.
