dejablu110 has what looks to be Tinner's gravel guard up for sale, not the algard like I mistook it for. I cant see any differences in the oil pan, exhaust or anything near where the guard would mount between the 2008 and the 2013 versys. I know its not a skid plate, but I don't plan on taking the versys off road, at least not more than just gravel trails anyways.

Tinner's guard is almost identical to the Algard. The only difference is the shape of the air holes in it. I used mine for city, dirt and gravel roads and it was perfect for that.

A skid-plate can protect your engine sump from rocks that get pitched back off the front wheel, EVEN on pavement...!
