43 tooth rear sprocket

I put on my 43 tooth rear sprocket today and it cured the speedo error. With the 46 tooth I use to drive 75 on the highway and had everybody passing me. Now 75 is close to actually going 75. I went through one of them speed things near a school at 45 and it said I was going 44. I can feel a loss of power in 6th gear though with the new sprocket. You also have to give it more gas in 1st to take off.

Me too - just switched three weeks ago. I like the correction of the spedo. At first i wasn't use to the take offs, but now am completely satisfied with the change.

Yeah, now that the speedo is pretty close to right I'll have to slow my driving down to about 70 on the highway. I use to drive 75 because the speedo was so far off with the 46 tooth sprocket.

Yup, be careful about your speed now, it's easier to get a ticket with the 43 tooth.

Wait a few weeks, then go back to stock. You'll think you've installed a super charger....

Put a $100 Nuvi GPS on your bike, and you'll have the correct speed, plus an assist for going to new places. IMHO gearing should be selected for ride environment, not to correct speedometer errors.

I went with the 43 tooth to help with the gearing. I like it much better than stock.
