#*%$ Fairing Tabs on Mk2

In trying to gently remove my side plastic panels from the bike I somehow managed to rebreak the front loop tab on one side and freshly break it on the other. The panels are much easier to remove on the V2 vs V1 however, the tabs need to be built much stronger and more robust. Anyone else have this issue? Going to try to reform tabs with my Plastex Plastic Repair Kit.

No bproblems here eiather... taken them off like 50 times in 12 months.

Try lubing the rubber grommets with red rubber grease. this might make pull out easier especially if the weather is cold or the grommets are getting hard.

A mechanic broke both of mine. Thought about trying to repair it, but I just left it. Don't think it made it any more rattly. Does it cause a problem for you?

I better check mine out to see how my mechanic is doing with the tabs

Until the CA member spoke up, the rest were way up North, where it is cold.
But the CA member could be in the mountains too, but statistically speaking...

Mine were broken by improper installation. The loop in the fairing wasn't hooked over the tab in the frame. Press, crack.

I broke mine because I didn't know how to take the fairing off.

If my mechanic broke mine I'd make them buy me new ones...

I always lubricate all of the posts that are pushed into the rubber connectors with heavy wheel bearing grease. That helps tremendously when I'm taking the fairings off and on including the one at the front that has the tab ahead of it. Mine is a 2012.
