How do I get these plastic pins out?

These are the pins around the cowling. I want to have a go at getting rid of the buzzzz.... 2010. Started prying with screwdriver but thought I'd check first.

Push the center pin in slightly and that will loosen/ release the outer ring. Then it all pulls out together. I had the same issue, seems backwards to me but it works.

I replaced mine with these. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001AWDX1K/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 .They don't tear up as easy as the stock ones..

Like Jeff says. Push the center until you hear a click and then pull the outer ring to remove. To re-install, pull the center pin out, place the thing into the hole and then push the center pin in. You'll hear a click when it's seated.

My wife's new Honda CTX700 is crawling with them but they work just fine if treated properly.

If you can reach the other side you can push the pin out in the center with a flat blade screw driver. See you tube videos for easy HOW TO removal. My dealer charges $3 each for these, better to buy in bulk off of EBay or Amazon and keep a few spares around. The Versys uses only one size. Does anyone know what size that is?

Cool, I will be heading to Lowes today. The bodywork on my cbr1000rr is mostly attached with cumbersome snap in tabs and push rivets (I guess someone thinks the bike looks prettier if you can't see screws holding the bodywork on). I've lost a couple through the years...
